Moreover, the company is looking at scaling the number to 1,000 soon.

Last year, Bhavish Aggarwal revealed the plans of Ola Electric launching over 200 experience centres across India by March

Earlier this year, the EV mobility startup also launched ‘Ola Care Subscription’ to offer after-sales service to the owners of its EVs

Electric mobility unicorn Ola Electric has touched the 600 experience centres milestone. The Bhavish Agarwal-led company began launching the experience centres in September and achieved this milestone in eight months.

The EV unicorn is now looking at scaling this number to 1,000.

“Ola Experience Centres is the place you visit when you are looking for information regarding purchase of Ola Scooters, financing of your vehicle, test ride and all kinds of service support,” the company said in a blogpost.

Last year, Aggarwal had revealed the plans to launch 200 experience centres across India by March.

The development comes a few days after it was reported that Ola Electric was closing $300 Mn in its latest funding round at a $6 Bn valuation.

The company will utilise the fresh funds to increase its electric two-wheeler capacity from 0.5 Mn to 2 Mn per annum. Besides, Ola Electric also plans to set up an advanced cell chemistry battery plant.

Earlier this year, the EV mobility startup also launched ‘Ola Care Subscription’ to offer after-sales service to its electric vehicles (EVs) owners. The subscription plan has two tires – Ola Care, priced at INR 1,999 per year, and Ola Care+, which will cost INR 2,999 annually.

Ola Electric is also eyeing a listing on the bourses early next year. While the EV startup has not decided on the valuation yet, founder and CEO Aggarwal is aiming for a market capitalisation of $10 Bn.

Since the launch of its first EV in August 2021, controversies such as product quality issues, escooter fires, service problems, and misappropriation of FAME-II subsidy have plagued the EV unicorn.

Despite all the issues, Ola Electric continues to lead the electric two-wheeler market. As per Vahan data, its vehicle registrations stood at 21,957 units in April, growing from 21,404 units in March 2023.
